What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a feeling of worry, fear and unsettlement. We will all feel this at times, and to different degrees, but when these feeling become excessive, intense, difficult to control and life affecting it could be an anxiety disorder.
What Are The Symptoms of Anxiety?
Symptoms associated with anxiety include:
- Excessive Worrying
- Panic Attacks
- Increased heart rate/palpitations
- Digestive issues or symptoms or IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
- Insomnia/broken sleep
- Irritable, tense or restless
- Shaking or sweating
- Increased muscle aches or soreness
- Fatigue
- Phobias
- OCD tendencies (obsessive-compulsive disorder)
Common Treatments For Anxiety
There is a range of medication you may be offered for anxiety including antidepressants, beta-blockers, tranquillisers or talking therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Whilst these treatments are helpful for some, if they don’t address the root of the problem and appropriate ways to deal with these, feelings of anxiety might remain or return.
Can I Recover From Anxiety?
