How many sessions will I need and how long are they?
Every person is different, however 8-12 one hour sessions are quite average, with some needing less or more. Please note that however long your journey is, I will support you through it and even once our regular sessions have ended (because you have recovered!), many clients have occasional one-off sessions when life throws a curve ball, or we just need to have a supportive refresh and reset.
For the first few weeks, sessions will be held weekly, then we can move to every 2 weeks, then monthly.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions are held on Zoom. I am based in the UK but have an international client base, so please reach out wherever you are and we will make the time difference work. During our session it would be helpful for you to find a quiet location where you feel comfortable and can talk in total privacy.
How much do sessions cost?
Please see the pricing page for session prices.
What symptoms can Mind-Body therapy help?
Reconnecting the Mind and Body can support the body with an endless number of symptoms. Many clients don’t have a specific diagnosis but feel lost, unfulfilled and frustrated.
Some of conditions supported are:
- Depression & Low Mood
- Anxiety
- Panic Attacks
- Digestive Problems
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME
- Fibromyalgia
- Long-Covid
- Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome
- Migraines
- Brain Fog
- … and many others
A Doctor should always be consulted about your symptoms before considering any type of therapy.
Is this similar to Mickel Therapy, CBT or Psychotherapy?
Mickel Therapy
The founder of The MindBody Reconnect practiced and taught Mickel Therapy for many years, however this Mind-Body Therapy programme has evolved beyond Mickel Therapy and incorporates the broader knowledge of leading experts in the mind-body field such as Dr. Gabor Maté.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Psychotherapy
These therapies can focus on changing the thought patterns of the ‘thinking’ brain. There may also be in-depth discussion of the past and trauma related events.
Mind-Body Therapy does not try to change your thinking, nor does the therapy require re-living the past, rather it gives you the tools to see your symptoms in the present, as form of communication, which you will learn to discern, understand and respond to appropriately.
Responding appropriately in the present allows your body to let go of the past, as new strategies and learning is applied. It also provides in-depth knowledge of what your ‘thinking ‘ and ’emotional’ brain are, and how they need to work together in a balanced way to achieve a life of health and happiness!
