What is Burnout?

Burnout has been described by The World Health Organisation (WHO) as an ‘occupational phenomenon’. It is a syndrome that can have multiple physical, emotional and mental symptoms as a result of long term, often stressful and excessively demanding work/life balance. Burnout coaching can help you recognise these patterns before they take a deeper toll.

What Are The Symptoms of Burnout?

Symptoms associated with burnout include:

  • Difficulty concentrating or focusing
  • Physical and mental exhaustion
  • Headaches and joint pain
  • Insomnia
  • Feel detached
  • Irritable, short-tempered, procrastinating

Common Treatments For Burnout

As burnout is often the result of life circumstances, common advice includes:

  • Practicing mindfulness
  • Eating healthily
  • Find time for exercise, recreation and things you enjoy
  • Set clear boundaries against what you can and can’t do, especially in the workplace

Can Burnout Coaching Help Me?

Burnout is often the result of multiple factors. Recognising these factors, and learning how to work with them so symptoms are less likely to be triggered, is possible.  This is a process burnout coaching can guide you through. As you apply the tools and understanding we explore together, it becomes possible to navigate the situations behind your symptoms and move toward a calmer, more sustainable way of working.
